Pre-Marriage Counselling

When taking the next big step in your relationship we look forward to experiencing the joyful things that we have seen in our futures together. In periods of change and adjustment, we feel often feel a much wider range of feelings. At Couples Help we see many couples who are scared and feeling confusing negative emotions, but are invested in making their future marriage work.

Couples who have recently moved in together or got engaged often fight and this can be worrying. Conflict in the build up to your marriage ceremony can have knock on effects across both of your lives, placing a strain on your family and your mental health. These feelings are all normal, and you’ll feel reassured to know that you’re definitely not alone. If you’re looking for a way to do it differently to other couples, the chances are you’re asking yourself what needs to change in your relationship. Premarital counselling can help you to prepare for the next step. Premarital education is about strengthening your foundation for the future, learning how to work intentionally together to navigate a period of change and adjustment form a place of empathy, rather than unintentionally working against each other.

Using Imago Therapy, Couples Help is here to help you grow as an engaged couple and positively transform your relationship with each other. Counselling sessions are not just for married couples, or couples actively resolving conflict. Our premarital counselling is intimate, one to one family therapy to nurture your growing family. Prepare for your big day by investing in your communication skills with your future spouse!
